Why Social Media Marketing

Information Technology

Information technology is representative of powerful forces at work in our society. The concern to address mental health has, and continues to remain a major public health concern within the United States. Within the mental health industry alone, the quality and interest of reaching people who are struggling through means of online communication and social networking sites is a topic that has intrigued professionals who work with and treat clients in a therapeutic setting.

Social Media Strategies

Social media networking and online communication are excellent tools utilized for the mass dissemination of information. Examples include: networking and advertising, as well as overall exposure, awareness, and outreach. Online communication involves use of technology such as email, communication through social media networking sites, messaging through online therapy hubs, FaceTime, Skype, etc.

Know the Risks

New risks arise from new technology. The use of the Internet for social media marketing and client outreach and communication is ever evolving. Even if you do not practice therapy over the Internet, any use of technology and online communication with new and potential clients poses risk for violating legal and ethical standards. The majority of infractions is a result of lack of knowledge regarding current guidelines, and is unintentional. Familiarize yourself with the legal and ethical guidelines

The use of social media networking is an excellent tool for therapists and clients alike.

I created BrandAid, LLC because I am passionate about forming a bridge to connect appropriate mental health professionals with individuals who are struggling. The use of social media is a powerful method to jumpstart the process of hope, relief, and healing change.

My published research paired with practicing as a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (e-therapy) has given me the necessary knowledge and experience to assist those entering the mental health profession in the digital age. My goal is to provide you with valuable information needed to better understand the online work environment you are about to embark on. Armed with this knowledge, less misunderstanding and limitations to providing treatment will likely occur for you as the therapist.
